MDM Playbook#

This Playbook aims to help new joiners gain an overview of implementing Master Data projects at Novo Nordisk. It is intended for Solution Architects, Data Engineers, and seeks to define scalable, cross-lines-of-business processes and practices.
Data Engineers , though a direct contributors to implementation and validation phase, must be aware of all parts of the final deliverable.

Note

The current Novo Nordisk MDM platform levereges the Informtica IDMC platform, hence you may find parts of the playbook tailored specific to IDMC platform capabilities.

This playbook is organized into logical, progressive stages of the MDM lifecycle. Each stage includes key activities, responsible roles, inputs, process ,tools, templates, and expected outcomes.

Phase Role in the Journey
Inception Lays the strategic foundation — MDM vision,aligning stakeholders, governance council setup, domain scoping,use case creation.
Requirements Gathering Captures data needs, ownership, rules, and business processes .
Design Defines the data model, data ingestion into MDM, mastering in MDM , data publish from MDM ,stewardship workflowsand integration points.
Implementation Configures and builds the solution in Novo Nordisk MDM Platform.
Validation & Acceptance Ensures the MDM solution performs accurately and complies with policies
Launch Moves the solution to production, activates live stewardship, and begins operational governance
