Key Ideas

This Technical Feasibility Assessment phase is aimed at reusing an existing data product given one already exists. If none exists, it focuses on creating the high level solution design/architecture using right technology and identify any missing gaps on GDAI platform capabilities.

Product is searched in NNDM and next steps are defined accordingly.

GDAI technical team assesses the business requirements and conducts feasibility analysis by utilising GD&AI platform, recommended technology for the required capabilities and identify any existing technical gaps. Following this, a review is conducted with the GD&AI Architecture Team to assess the architectural feasibility, pinpoint platform capabilities, and address any identified gaps. A solution design with estimated costs is presented to Product Owner post this.

Business and GDAI Portfolio Management provide the go ahead for the solution to start and resources are mobilized.
- Establish governance foundation and assign key roles.
This is the second stage of the Data Product lifecycle.
The Solution Delivery Manager is responsible for initiating this stage. Product Owner is responsible for documenting the results coming out of this phase and Solution Delivery Manager is expected to facilitate the same.
How to conduct assessment#
Follow below steps once the Requirements are finalized:
- Look at Novo Nordisk Data Marketplace (NNDM) to find if something similar already exists and can meet your demand. Refer How to use NNDM
Stop
If a data product is found in NNDM, consider using the same. If a similar product does not quite meet the requirement, consdering reaching out to the product team to evaluate if it can be extended. If nothing is found, then proceed with below.

The missing sections of Business Requirement Documents should be filled once assessment is complete.

The Solution Delivery Manager is expected to take the assessment results, costs and gaps from GDAI technical team and seeks approval from Business Stakeholders and GDAI Portfolio Management with Product Owner in loop for all these discussions. This would be applicable even in case of a POC (unless a mandate is received prior that POCs will not require approval).

Once approval is received, Solution Delivery Manager needs to submit a request for resources using Sourcing and Ext. Resource Mgmt Playbook. Product Owner is informed about the progress from this point onwards
